Dona Nobis Pacem – BlogBlast For Peace

Posted by cotojo on November 6, 2007

Have you joined the Global BlogBlast for Peace?  It’s on Wednesday November 7th so you still have time to join in.

Head on over to Mimi Lennox at Mimi Writes, pick up a globe and decorate it in any way you like and then email it to her.

All instructions can be found on the site.

There is a very troubled world again, with so many lives being lost…..in the name of peace?

This Sunday in the UK at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we remember not only those who made the ultimate sacrifice during WWI and WWII, but also the many servicemen, servicewomen and many others who have lost their lives since in the name of peace.

Have the world leaders learnt nothing from the past?  Acts of terrorism and acts of aggression have gained nothing and only lead to greater loss of life.  Many families are affected globally by these acts, for each casualty is a son, daughter, brother, sister, father, mother and the loss to their family is immense and leaves a wound that can never heal.

When will our leaders learn that aggression has gained nothing since 1945?  They still continue to abuse their positions and send many people to war in the knowledge that casualties will be high…..but they don’t care, for these people are but numbers and soon become forgotten, but their families and friends can never forget.

Join the BlogBlast for Peace and let YOUR voice be heard.

I only learnt about it late on Monday so it was a rush Tuesday to get it posted!!

Hopefully, it will be a big hit in the blogosphere, and the politicians could learn a few things about what the people really think on a global basis.

    Peace to all

Kim – As you say, the sacrifices were insurmountable and still are.

My parents families were relatively lucky, although many of them served during WWII and some were wounded, they all returned. For myself, I shall be remembering friends that I served with in the 70’s who were victims of conflict.

I was late catching the pease globe, I learnt of it on Monday night and posted it Tuesday, hope you catch it too 🙂
