Valentine E-Card Virus Alert

Posted by cotojo on February 5, 2008

I have received an email containing a virus link from American Greetings, which is used by many Yahoo users.
e-cards are viewed online NOT downloaded, if you receive one of these DELETE it immediately. Do NOT click the link in the email.

Xarous – Thank you for the information, I have added this to the post on my Free PC Security blog
I removed the hotlinks to prevent others from clicking them 🙂
Thank you for your valued comment.
    Happy Valentine’s Day,

I as well received an e-mail today with a link and nothing else.

http://**.***.***.***/ (Link removed by Admin – Details added HERE)

When going there you see a bad version of an e-card and then it prompts you to download valentine.exe

    Reported to gmail.

Came from federated*****21fl.6ht@jmmdhs.com (Link changed by Admin)

    With subject line: Lovetrain

Seems to be coming or bouncing from @jmmdhs.com which is in fact a hospital in CA. But please be careful. Good luck.

Claudette – No problem with the tag 🙂
The virus with this ecard is a nasty one and as I have mentioned e-cards are viewed online, any that prompt to download are very dodgy!
Yes you can copy the old age alphabet 🙂
Have fun and take care my friend,
    Colin

Bluedreamer – you’re most welcome, this is a nasty one sent out to coincide with Valentine’s Day, and many people could be caught out thinking that they have a secret admirer.
    Have a great week,
    Colin
