Missing Maddie – New Theories Emerge October 10th

Late on Monday, Paulo Rebelo – second in command at the Policia Judiciaria -was appointed to oversee the ongoing investigation into Madeleine McCann’s disappearance. He is a senior criminal investigation coordinator based in Lisbon, but is expected to move nearer to Praia da Luz to continue the investigation.
Previously his work has been on several high-profile cases including allegations of a child sex ring at a state run children’s home, but this will be his first missing child case. His appointment comes after last weeks sacking of Chief Inspector Goncalo Amaral and his deputy, Chief Inspector Tavares Almeida, requesting an extended leave of absence.
Almeida is now to face trial with two other officers after claims were made that they beat an innocent man in another case seven years ago, leaving him with broken ribs and severe bruising. Amaral has also been accused of assisting the cover up of an assault on a mother of a missing girl in another case.
Meanwhile, the media reports that Portugese investigators have now made astonishing claims that there were six other children in the holiday apartment with Maddie on the night she disappeared. Yet again there are claims that Maddie and the McCann twins, Sean and Amelie, were sedated.
The Portugese media is also claiming that investigators have significant evidence that there were seven children in the apartment, out of the eight children in the group. They offer no explanation as to the whereabouts of the eighth child.
Yesterday, investigators spent several hours at the apartment in an attempt to reconstuct events of May 3rd, the day that Maddie disappeared. This follows Pualo Rebelo taking charge and wanting to start afresh, covering every aspect of the case.
Gerry and Kate McCann are hoping that Rebelo’s appointment will mark a turnaround in the case and put a halt to the claims that they murdered their daughter. They also hope that he will also focus on getting the investigators to focus on searching for Maddie.
Again there is much speculation over forensic tests, in which the media claim to have copies of leaked documents proving that Maddie was sedated, killed and then her body dumped.
The rumor mill is hard at work yet again!!
