Missing Maddie: Police Quiz Suspect Again

THE only named suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is being questioned again by police, it was confirmed today.
British expatriate Robert Murat, 33, attended a police station in Portugal’s Algarve this morning and was being questioned by detectives. Murat’s spokesman Tuck Price said he believed the questioning was simply “part of the process”.
Murat, who lives near the hotel where Madeleine vanished on May 3, entered police headquarters accompanied by his lawyer, according to news reports.
Police spokesman Olegario Sousa said he could not confirm that Murat was being interviewed but said officers had planned to speak again this week to people they previously questioned. “For the moment, there is nothing new to announce,” Sousa said.
Madeleine disappeared more than two months ago, snatched while she was sleeping in her room in a resort complex in Praia da Luz.
Police questioned Murat but later released him, saying they did not have enough evidence to bring charges. Last month it emerged that Murat had given a second DNA sample to police. Sousa said the second swab was given because the first sample might have been insufficient, contaminated or even lost.
Murat has denied any involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.
