About Me
I am almost an antique - but not quite a silver surfer lol - and I live in the UK, long time divorced and dad to a wonderful daughter. I have a disability but that doesn’t stop me from blogging, and I have met some truly wonderful people along the way.
My name is Colin, which I use to sign comments rather than cotojo. I love to cook, tend to my Bonsai collection, read books - fiction and non-fiction. Spending time with my daughter is important to both of us and we have good rapport and sometimes deep, long conversations.
I like to move around in the blogosphere and will always leave a comment after reading a post, just so the author knows that I have been there.
This blog - Life - will cover many things, some humour, some recipes and some factual information which I hope you will enjoy. At the present time a great deal of it is centred around missing Madeleine McCann, which started as a one post appeal, but from the incoming searches I could see that readers wanted more information, so I try to keep it as up-to-date as possible.
Please do leave comments, ideas, suggestions as they are always welcome.
This is fast overtaking my original blog about PC Security, which you can find here

Hi Colin,
Spending time with our kids are indeed important. I know some people who can’t spend those precious moments with their kids because they’re too busy.

Jess - You are so right, spending time with our kids is important and there are many that can’t due to circumstances.
Thanks for your comment my friend.

Lynda - Thank you so much for dropping by and your very kind comments
It has certainly taken me by surprise in the way it has ‘taken off’, as my main blog is much more serious and this one was started to show that I have a human side too
God Bless

You do indeed have a wonderful blog Colin. And I think the reason it is so popular is that it is all about life as your title says-that’s what people can really relate to. Keep it up. So you have a bonsai collection- I love plants and have always wanted to try my hand at it-very interesting. Maybe some day…
p.s. Hairless Harry is being featured all week on my blog.
November 5, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Chris - Thank you so much for your kind comments
Maybe one day I’ll add a post about bonsai’s, successes and failures lol.
This has far exceeded my expectations as it started as my secondary blog just for a bit of fun, but it has become increasingly popular and has overtaken my main blog
I don’t mind though as it adds the human element which also helps
Have a great week, and I’ll be over to check out Hairless Harry

Hello Colin, I’ve heard and read a lot about you in the blogosphere, and after reading this post I can see why. My name is Ann and I’m the author of A Nice Place In The Sun; a little blog with humorous posts about life and memories, in addition to children’s picture book reviews. I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I loved your “about me” post.
Best wishes,
Ann

good eve to you colin
I connected to your blog via google to find the latest on the missing maddie and was surprised to see a civilian keeping an up to date record of events. I usually do not use the net and find blogging so time consuming, but was challenged by your comment that you always leave a reply to show you were ther, so ot of courtesy, so do I my friend…adious and thanks for the up date

Belinda - Good evening to you and thank you so much for your comment and visit.
Blogging can be time consuming, but in the case of missing Maddie it’s a perspective that does not act as judge and jury, as so many others have done, particularly the media!
It started as a one post plea to help in the search and I soon realised that readers, many of whom are not bloggers, wanted more information so I continued to research new information as and when it became available, and still do.
As I state, I always reply to comments made by readers no matter where they are from as all comments are of importance
Best regards,
Colin

That must be so much fun. I like to do many things around the home myself, new shelving and so on, and can do most things that need to be done, plumbing, decorating, carpentry but I have never tried any kind of restoration!
I was a head chef until I was told I could work no more. It was only this year that I decided to start a blog not knowing what to expect, but I have met so many amazing people, like yourself

Wow, while reading your blog, I was deeply touched … Your word flows as wind, as a smell of the flowers - refreshes the reader like a sip of a fresh air in our busy world. Thank you.
I too live on a disability pension - the aditional hardships we are to overcome in life could make the life unbearable, but that’s otherwise in the reality, because of the love we encounter on our road. My disability helped me to uplift my eyes to the heaven, and lots of benefactors were met around - the former passersby became the best friends and thus I have entered the spiritual realms - I even am grateful for my disability now. It have helped me to appreciate better the taste of the life and the responsobility to stay in the gratitude that makes us the giants
January 7, 2008 at 4:27 pm
Tomas - Thank you so very much for your visit and kind words

I do think that having any form of disability changes the way in which we look at life and deal with everyday matters. To be able to meet so many wonderful and caring people in the blogosphere is tremendous and heartwarming in itself, and I have met many others with disabilities and have formed some truly remarkable friendships.
It’s a pleasure to meet you
Have a wonderful week,
Colin

It’s a pleasure to get to know you too. I am pretty fortunate that I have kept the close relationship with my daughter, and I know what you mean as I wasn’t close to my dad for many years.

I don’t mind helping in any way, I believe that if people have the knowledge then they should use this to help those that don’t, so that they can improve their skills
